Vikrant Massey Reveals the Heartbreaking Reason Behind His Acting Hiatus

In December 2024, Vikrant Massey surprised fans by announcing a break from acting to focus on his personal life. In a recent interview, the 12th Fail actor shed light on the emotional reason behind his decision, reassuring fans that he is not retiring.

Massey emphasized that the hiatus was a conscious effort to improve himself and dedicate quality time to his family. "No, if at any point I feel like I need to take a break to become a better version of myself, then I will take that break," Vikrant Massey told Bollywood Bubble. "The idea was always to better myself and, of course, to spend time with my family."

The actor, who welcomed his son Vardaan in 2024, revealed the toll that his demanding work schedule had taken. "The last few years have been phenomenal, but I’ve been away from my family, shooting non-stop. I had a baby boy, and you know what’s heartbreaking?" he confessed.

The Heartbreaking Revelation

Vikrant Massey shared a poignant detail about his son's early memories. "His memories of me are from videos. His first tooth came in, but I wasn’t there. He said ‘Papa’ for the first time in my absence. His first memory of me is through a video, which I’ve saved in a folder. I mean, that’s ridiculous, right?"

Addressing Burnout, Not Retirement

Vikrant Massey clarified that his decision was not a retirement announcement, but a much-needed response to burnout. He needed to spend quality time with his family and reassess his path as an artist.

"If I feel the need to go back to the drawing board and better myself as an actor, I will," he stated. "Because of the blessings I’ve received, because of the privilege I have, I will go back, work on myself, and then come back."

During his time away, Vikrant Massey used the opportunity to review his previous performances, identify patterns, and determine areas for growth. He believes the break provided clarity on his creative stagnation and allowed him to re-evaluate his career trajectory.
