Bobby Darling Recounts Feeling Mistreated by Producer During 'Maine Dil Tujhko Diya' Filming
Bobby Darling, a memorable personality from early 2000s Bollywood hits such as Page 3 and Chalte Chalte, has recently shared her recollections of challenging experiences she faced behind the camera. In a revealing new interview, the actress spoke candidly about her early career struggles, highlighting a particularly disheartening period during the production of Maine Dil Tujhko Diya, where she felt marginalized and financially insecure despite her rising fame.
Darling specifically mentioned that while her interactions with Sohail Khan were positive, she felt a lack of respect from producer Bunty Walia. Following an expansion of her role in the movie, she requested an adjustment to her payment. However, this request was met with a dismissive response, leaving her feeling devalued. Despite this, she fondly remembered Sohail and Salman Khan, praising their respectful and kind behavior towards her on set.
Darling further explained that during the filming of Maine Dil Tujhko Diya, she contemplated discussing her payment dispute with either Salman or Sohail Khan but ultimately decided against it. She feared that raising concerns about Bunty Walia could jeopardize her position in the film. As a result, she reluctantly accepted the reduced payment, despite the emotional distress it caused her.
Darling also revealed the difficult financial circumstances she was facing at the time. She was living in a modest chawl and struggling to cover her basic expenses. The money promised for her role was crucial for necessities such as rent and food. With a monthly rent of only Rs 1700, even that small amount represented a lifeline. This highlights the financial instability she endured early in her career.
